The Y-Strainer (p/n 1695) is a brass component featuring FIP fittings and a 0.20 mesh filter element . Its installation is highly recommended when incorporating plate-style heat exchangers into the system, as it prevents debris from clogging the narrow passages . For maintenance, the cleanout port on this 3/4 ′′ Y−Strainer is sealed using a separate 1/2 ′′ Brass Pipe Plug (p/n 6557) .
